“I started a school because I wanted to meet a need in my community for quality hybrid (homeschool & private) education. I stepped into a leadership role after years of teaching and realized I lacked mentors and modeling of good leadership. I worked with Audrey to overcome negative associations I held related to staff performance appraisals, handling team conflict, and running effective meetings. Audrey helped shift my thinking about what a leader is. Now, I am being the leader I wish I had when I was a teacher. I approach performance reviews as a chance to celebrate the contributions and strengths of my staff, stay curious during conflict, focus on listening to my staff and supporting them, look for ways I can grow in my communication skills, and facilitate efficient team meetings.”
